On January 15,
1947, a passerby (said to have been a child with mother; but in the move
"Who Is the Black Dahlia", a grandfather and grandson) spotted
the body of Elizabeth Short in a vacant lot near Hollywood. Various reports
came into the LAPD, some people saying they first thought the body was
a manequin.
