First off, I don't find what I've done to be vindictive. Web site visitors and those readers of your books deserved to know why you weren't going to appear on the Web site. Simply put, I found your reactions to me, not knowing who I am, to be unprofessional.

I don't see how the site itself is vindictive and biased. I present information as I receive it. Since you gave me none, that left nothing on the site about the other possible lifestyles of Beth other than mere rumors. I direct you to the page at http://www.bethshort.com/eshort.php you will see that I've made a point to say that evidence is scarce at this point and as more becomes available, it will be posted. You didn't have anything to share.

Why are you so fascinated? Besides the point you've made that it affected your life and your raising, why else would you care? Maybe because the crime was so brutal. Maybe because she was, in fact, a beautiful-looking young woman, and that, according to police, the crime goes unsolved. It's the same with the Cleveland Torso Killings, the West Memphis Three trials and the Ramsey murder case, currently active. We're interested in the nature of the crime, resolving the crime and learning more about the case. I don't think that makes us "out of whack." I study crime - that is one thing that I do for a living. Without the evidence, I can't do a thing other than what I've presented. You've yet to give me any concrete information, any evidence, any statement. Yet you are perturbed that I haven't swayed to your side of the court. You haven't proven a thing to me other than the fact that you are utterly disgusted that anyone can even think that there may be another story other than yours.

I've only presented what I think in that one section of the site - the information about my dealings with you. Otherwise, the information *is* unbiased, because other people have sent me information, files, videos and evidence - enough to fill an entire file drawer. The only shred of paper I have that refers to your claim is a letter from the LAPD stating why they were not going to reopen the case. You've supplied me, and the visitors, who are so interested in finding a resolution the crime, nothing. And if evidence turned that you are completely in the know, we could all accept that.

And, you're wrong. We want to *know* what happened. But we want proof.

Perhaps some do idolize her, and that goes the same with many people who are less-than-godly. But none of this changes the fact that you continue to ramble about who she was and what she did to you, without granting us the time to get more insight. It's like saying smoking will kill a person without giving any evidence or incidents to back it up. It's like saying Clinton should be impeached without telling us why.

Well, if I had children, I would not let them play with any other people I did not know. Again, a vague point made.
