Dear Jan:

I thought I'd start a new message before things got too confusing. I'll be re-reading your last message to get a better grasp of the scenario.

Janice:
If re-reading it doesn't traumatize you, I guess you weren't there at the beginning, or end of Elizabeth Short's life. Joke, albeit a dark one. This is a lot to keep track of, whether it's from my perspective or the reader's, I'll admit.

Black Dahlia Web Site:
I do want to continue speaking with you, so I am telling you the following so you will know exactly where I stand. I do want to continue our conversation, and look forward to doing so, but also want to be honest and up-front.

1. I do, as you know, also speak with John Gilmore. I do not share your information with him, and I will not share his information with you. Anything on the site, of course, is up there for everyone, but I don't compromise the trust issue. Therefore, I don't speak about you to others I interact with, nor would I do the same with you. There are a handful of people I discuss the case with, and I am open to listening to all factors and scenarios.

2. I am, under contract, obligated to complete the Severed comic book. I publicly stated on my site that this had stood still for a bit because of all the vast amounts of "other" information that kept pouring in.

I didn't want to "scare you off," but I also wouldn't feel right if I continued speaking with you without at least making you aware of these issues. The conversations between you and I shouldn't force either one of us to compromise our moral values.

I am not including Michael Newton on this particular message because, though I have no reason not to trust him, the "publishing" issue is one that he faces on a regular basis. And I'm sure he refrains from discussing contractual and related details with others. If you reply the "publishing" issue, lets keep this one private.

Janice:
Thank you for sharing that and being upfront. I will also be honest and upfront. While I admire your objectivity, and know that you don't believe my account of the murder, I do know that I am telling the truth. Not "my truth," but the truth. The facts, to the best of my ability to remember and corroborate them.

In the memory and out of respect for, all my father's victoms from the murder of Short, to his death in October, 1962, I have dedicated myself to making public what should always have been know. As I know for a fact that Gilmore's version of the murder and who committed it, is not even near the truth, I can't agree to not sharing anything with Michael Newton. His adherence to facts, and his commitment to this book has beeen admirable. Any version other than the factual one, is a betrayal of the victims. Including Short. So I need to keep that separate and apart.

Knowing this, that I make not promise not to share information with Michael Newton, you may also decide what and what not to share with me.

Pamela, I don't know if you have any children, or are fond of any. However, I did have children, born by rapes by my father. I witnessed the murder of my son, whom I have named Vincent. My daughter was given away. These two are among my father's victims, and they would never have been conceived, nor murdered or given away if my father had been given at least the life sentence he deserved. Oh, how I would prefer that these actual events were the result of hallucinations. They are not.

In memory of my son and daughter, I will do all I can to expose the cover-up. That does not mean that I don't respect what you consider your rights. It seems, the more we communicate, that you are sincere and attempting to be unbiased. I appreciate that.

Sincerely yours, Jan P. S. I am not re-reading this to proof it for the reasons given. I don't like pain.
