Janice Knowlton vs. The Black Dahlia Web Site

Against everything my parents ever taught me, and the recommendations from scores of people who visit this site, and even Det. Brian Carr with the LAPD, I opted to correspond with Janice Knowlton via e-mail.
Janice approached me personally after I posted one of her latest e-mails to the site (they begin at knowlton.php). And the result was a flood of e-mails between us - sometimes several on a daily basis.
My hope was to possibly gain more insightful information, giving Janice yet another chance to prove her case to me. I made it clear to Janice that I didn't know who I believed, and she was set on proving everyone else wrong. I just wanted to learn as much as I could, and we both agreed to keep the e-mails confidential for the time being. Some day, if she felt the urge, she might consider an interview for the site.
But, like clockwork, Janice pulled a 180, and one day I read her demanding questions and cut-downs on my computer screen. Apparently someone out there thinks I should be in the dungeon for not supporting Janice's efforts. So, one week Janice was recommending this site, and the next . . . I'll admit, I saw this coming from a mile away, but used the benefit of the doubt, maintaining professionalism, hoping something would come out of it, even if that something was to be used for my own research. You're reading the result.
In one of our last e-mails, Janice granted permission for me to post all the information and correspondence. Her claim was that every e-mail she sent to me was to be used for print and that I didn't print it. So, here it is. You can read it, judge for yourself, and then talk about it at the message boards.
The beginning of this began with a response to a web site visitor, which you can begin at Janice's first public posting and read through.
Recent Correspondence starts here - and you'll need to read all the messages to get a clear grasp on what happened.
Some of you digging for more info might find some interesting news in these messages.
NOTE: Some messages that were in response to someone else (for privacy sake), have been ommitted. It is possible some message may have been lost. Those that are listed here are in their entirety, and the format has been changed on some to avoid confusion.
