Who is Jack Pico you ask?? Larry Harnisch mentions on his site that the name on the mail he gets from BDS Jack is Jack Pico. So, here's a suspect no one has really spent much time on. Someone who seems to have intimate knowledge of the case and is still alive!

Could BDS Jack be the killer???

There's no way any sane man, crypto-buff or not, is gonna decipher what has been said in BDS and not be a nut job, or on the *very* off chance actually involved.

I have said since the first time I read that site that if BDS is in fact the correct analysis, then the author is the killer and that dissertation is a confession. The way it's written to me smacks of someone who left a very careful trail of obscure and almost indecipherable clues leading to a fictitious killer who was overwhelmed by the frustration that nobody picked up the cryptography/carving horse trail.

Age is admittedly in timeframe and familiarity with details is beyond an avergae researcher.

Jack Pico's story has actually changed quite a bit over the years. First Ed B is some nobody loser that gets made fun of for his looks, who then falls in love with Beth, kills her because she jilted him, mimicks William Heirens, has a horse fetish, and later kills himself. Next he's living out of state and flies back and forth into LA, abducts Beth, flies home, then returns once again to do the murder and no one misses him. After the murder he deserts his wife, presumably drowning himself. Then we are told he is living or has lived his remaining years in Calif from researching Census data(didn't he suicide?). And the latest story which was shared on this site by Bethwatch is that Ed B, his wife, and brother-in-law were all in on it. All of them codeine addicts. Then the capper of all.......Ed B learns to disect a body from a friend who castrates rhinoceroses for a living! I thought he got his medical skills from the job he had at a Long Beach hospital as was originally told to us by the BDS author? The latest version has him majoring in music-broacasting classes at USC, not pre-med like originally stated.

I think Jack Pico don't know jack $hit..........

The BDS reminds me of that guy that obsessed over JonBenet Ramsey until he convinced himself he did the murder and turned himself in to the Thialand police.

You really think it's just a coincidence that Jack inserted the absurdities about rhino emasculation and whatnot just as we on this site started to speculate that he himself might be the killer? Another ruse by a clever fiend is my take.

I mean, look at all the details and clues that he, AND ONLY HE, was smart enough to spot and bring to the world's attention. A phalanx of LAPD homicide detectives missed it all. Coroners didn't see it. Jack, and only Jack, knew about the cryptostuff and the initials and symbols carved into Beth's body because it was all his work product - and the stuff which is invisible to the naked eye in photographs, which only becomes obvious when Jack himself enhances it only proves my point. He has to know it was there before he analyzed any evidence. He didn't discover anything, he just pointed out stuff he knew was there because he himself put it there.

Perhaps Jack hated the real Ed Burns and was trying to frame him, and the failure of his masterful frame-up drove him mad over the years until, with the advent of the internet, he could finally dummy it down and spell it all out from behind a cloak of anonymity and his work would finally achieve the appreciation he had sought all those years.

Or not.
