Hi, I am a newbie to this great website. I got interested in Beth Short about a year ago when I read the first version of Black Dahlia Avenger. What books should I add to my collection? Should I buy the updated Black Dahlia Avenger book? Childhood Shadows seems to be the one to def add (I am on a budget.) Thanks. I am a 52 year old SAHM Mom (kids in college) who just loves a mystery! Thanks. _________________ Linda Sky |

Hi Linda and welcome. I would recommend the updated Hodel book. (I saw it at Barnes and Noble's sale shelf for around $5. Also Hodel updates his FAQs regularly. I also recommend Childhood Shadows and Mary Pacios' site. I can't really give much advice past that because I know that so much of the other books are filled with nonsense (in my opinion.) Plus the guy that just joined has a pretty amazing site. I'll give you my favorite links although you may have already been to them:
http://www.jimmymorse.com/home.html (Medford Jim)
http://www.theblackdahliainhollywood.com/ (One of my faves)
http://blackdahlia.info/modules/news/article.php?storyid=1 (Mary Pacios site, be sure to look at her gallery of Orson Welles funhouse pics.)
http://www.blackdahliaavenger.com/ (Hodel's site)
http://www.lmharnisch.com/ (Larry Harnisch) _________________ We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change we seek. ~Barack Obama |

Thank you folks. Have already read anything available at the public library - which isn't much. Have ordered Childhood Shadows. You are so right about some things being trash, but I like to read everything to get a broadbased outlook. Steve Hodel's book is the one that really got me interested in the case. Thanks. This is a great site! Thank you for the links, too. _________________ Linda Sky |
