I looked over this book today. I didn't "read" it; I simply scanned through. And I'm glad I didn't.

The parts I scanned over were so depressing. Janice was so delusional and you could "see" her mental illness not only in what she wrote about, but also in her writing style. Thinking about what she must have gone through to become as disturbed as she was brings me to tears.

Her family must have seen her suffer a great deal. I can relate because mental illness runs in my family and my eldest sister has many psychological problems, including problems with seeing things and hearing voices. Seeing her suffer makes the entire family miserable.

I can only imagine what Janice's family felt as she was being dragged around and screwed over by this therapist.

I just wrote what I thought about the book above, and lest anyone think I am picking on Janice, I thought I'd write here to let you know I agree with you. In a sense it reminds me of the whole Octomom thing - her doctor should have known better than implant her with 8 embryos, just like Janice's doctors should have been more responsible in treating this woman. Instead he led her astray with all the repressed memory phony baloney. And don't get me started on the hysterectomy debacle. I really ache for her that she unduly had that operation, and that it contributed to her mental decline.

Shoddy doctors need to be held accountable.
