|

I was in LA for two days this month and was lucky enough that John Gilmore had time to hook up for breakfast. It was an informal meeting - though John and I had talked a great deal over the years, we'd never met in person.
We spent the morning talking about many things - life in general, mostly. But we did spend a little time discussing the latest theories on the case (sorry, there's not much to report here, it was more a discussion of acknowledgement of latest writings and reports).
We did happen to stop by the Biltmore, and took a step inside of this absolutely beautiful hotel. Adorned with vintage design, for a few moments I was lost in the '40s. If you ever happen to have the chance to visit downtown LA, be sure to take a step inside.
Of course, no trip is complete without a pic, so here's one of John standing just above the Biltmore lobby (I'm told this is not the original check-in point for the hotel):

I'll bet that you had breakfast at The Pantry? |

I honestly can't remember the name of the place we hit, but according to the map, no, it wasn't. _________________ Best,

| The Pantry is a vintage restaurant in downtown Los Angeles, that has been open 24 hours continuosly -- for over 80 years now. It is steeped in 40s noir, and is one of John Gilmore's favorite haunts, when he's in town. They are especially known for their breakfasts. When you walk through their doors, it is like entering a time machine back to the 40s. http://www.pantrycafe.com |

| I am sorry, "Severed" is flawed. While entertaining at times. It is obvious that the Dahlia was a professional practicing her trade. She needed to survive in LA. She couldn't act. What else could she do? She got involved witH Hanson, and then became involved with "the business." |

I think his comment was just another in the long line of "blame the victim" theorists. I don't believe Elizabeth Short was a prostitute or a "whore", though even if she was that does not mean she deserved to be brutalized and murdered, dumped nude in a vacant lot for the whole world to see. _________________ Now I fold you down, my drunkard, my navigator,

| I dont believe for a second that she was a prostitute or a whore. It's not even a question in my mind. |

I really don't either, but I agree that her fate should be reserved for the dregs of humanity. Not naive girls. _________________ We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change we seek. ~Barack Obama |
